School District 83 Administration Building

Salmon Arm, British Columbia

This project was a new administration building for the School District, which also implemented a geoexchange system.

Falcon Engineering provided complete electrical design and construction supervision for this facility including dimmable LED lighting throughout with occupancy and daylight control systems, fire alarm and security systems. The network communications and emergency power/UPS systems were carefully designed in conjunction with district operations staff to support the district server infrastructure housed in the building data center.

A closed-loop borehole ground heat exchanger with a network of 40 boreholes was developed to provide the primary energy supply to a distributed heat pump system in the facility. These systems were designed to conserve energy and water.
