ECO NEST PROJECTS 2025

At Falcon Engineering sustainability and community are embedded in every facet of our operations. Falcon Engineering takes a hands-on approach, transforming ideas into actions that make a real impact, not only with our design work but in the community too.

Sustainability

Falcon has integrated sustainability across all levels of our business. One of our leading initiatives is our transition to renewable energy sources, ensuring that their main office utilizes LED lighting and smart lighting controls, an HVAC system that is comprised of high efficiency heat pumps, and solar photovoltaic array on the roof which helps to offset our energy consumption. In addition, Falcon has also implemented the following to reduce its carbon footprint:

 – Comprehensive recycling program

– Digital work environment nearly eliminating all paper use

– Installation of a water filtration system to eliminate bottled water

– Promoting multi-job site visits to reduce travel and avoid air travel whenever possible

– Installation of a high efficiency server to reduce energy consumption

– Installation of a bike room to promote emission free transportation by staff

– Sourcing sustainable purchases when ever possible

Community Impact 2025 – Okanagan Fruit Tree Project

Falcon’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond its own operations and into the heart of the community. Recognizing the growing need for nutritious food and support, Falcon has partnered with the Okanagan Fruit Tree Project to aid, promote food security, and to reduce community waste.

“Since 2012 Okanagan Fruit Tree Project has harvested 475417 pounds of food!”

The Okanagan Fruit Tree Project is a Registered Charity that operates in the Central and South Okanagan. They run a series of programs that help reduce food waste, increase stigma-free access to local produce for those experiencing marginalization, and support knowledge exchange around important food system issues. Volunteers grow, produce and participate in rescue programs to harvest and share amongst volunteers, schools, and social service organizations.

Falcon Engineering is proud to be providing financial support as well as support through design assistance.  Falcon Engineering employees have also volunteered at the farm and other harvesting locations, and we encourage our Team to do so again this year.
