Little Salmon First Nation Healing Centre and Daycare Buildings
Carmacks, Yukon
The construction of the new Healing Center and adjacent Daycare building was completed in 2012. The Little Salmon First Nation required community based approaches and spaces that served the needs of the families in traditional methods.
In conjunction with Broadway Architects, Falcon Engineering completed the design to complement the wood construction and highlight key areas such as the circular healing room, which was perfectly aligned to highlight the Band emblems through the circular windows during each of the solstices. Due to the remoteness of the location, maintenance and operation of the systems were key considerations when selecting equipment.
